THE ULTIMATE WAVE

Early each day, he wakes and yawns,

He hurries through breakfast and grabs his board.

He walks down the street, still rubbing his half-closed eyes,

And puts on his wetsuit as he nears the roaring surf.

The sand is soft and the salt spray chilling,

He runs to the water's edge, and paddles out past the break.

He lies on his board, here comes the "Ultimate wave"!

He paddles and leans, to catch every surfer's dream

The surfers is looking for the "Ultimate wave",

And he stands and steadies, sliding across the glassy wall of water.

He ends his ride and wonders again,

Was that really the "Ultimate wave"?

All morning he surfs and looks evermore

For the death-defying experience - the "Ultimate wave".
