CONCERNED LOVE

The whispering in your ear,

reminds you of an annoying child.

The constant gnawing at your conscience,

like a hungry termite.

There is no escape,

although you've already tried.

It stands in your way and ruins your life.

It's in the lecture you receive,

before you go out, and

the questions asked when you come home.

It's in the harsh rules,

that prevent you, and

the persuasive suggestions,

that organise your life.

They argue that it's for your own good,

but this you find hard to believe.

A punishment more likely,

for a crime uncommitted.

False accusations, without a witness,

How can such cruelty be performed out of love?
