GET REAL IT'S JUST A MOVIE

Bullets fly and children cry

It'll end in an hour and twenty

Romeo cannot find Juliet

He'll find her, they need a good ending.

The man in the black suit dies yet again

And the victory white prevails

But deep in the dark of a movie theatre

Mother hushes her young child's wails.

The ugly men marry the beautiful girls

And the wedding goes off without hitches

But deep in the dark of a movie theatre

someone aches from bullet wound stitches.

Lamb roast dinners turn out as they should

And mums are eternally young

And deep in the dark of a movie theatre

A child drowsily sucks his small thumb.

Blacks and white are friendly

If not at the start at the end

But outside, in the street, in the real world

A car killed three careering a bend.

The sexual antics of neighbours

Are nobody's care, they accept

But deep deep in the dark of a movie theatre

A lesbian couple caress.

The darkness of the theatre

Hides imperfections well

But lights on takes the masks away

The judge is free to tell.

Grievances and love lost

Regained in an hour or two

But walk out the door and be different

And nobody will accept you.

The good guys always win

And the main stars never die

But truth be told it makes some people

Laugh and other cry.

You take it as you like it

And no one says it's real

But go into the outside world

And it too seems unreal.
